تاريخ العالم

تاريخ العالم اصطلاحا هو تاريخ الإنسان منذ بداية ظهوره كإنسان عاقل Homo sapiens إلى وقتنا الراهن. يتميز التاريخ الإنساني بتراكم الاكتشافات discoveries والابتكارات والاختراعات، إضافة للقفزة الكمومية وتغير البارادايم paradigm shift والثورات - التي شكلت الحقبات البشرية من تطورات مادية وروحية.

التاريخ الإنساني مخالفا لما قبل التاريخ بدأ باختراع الكتابة، بغض النظر عن الموقع الجغرافي. الكتابة هي التي هيأت وخلقت النية التحتية لتراكم المعارف والذكريات وبالتالي انتشار العلم والمعرفة. الكتابة بدورها أصبحت ضرورة في ضوء الثورة الزراعية التي انتجت الحضارة أي الاستفرار الدائم للجماعات البشرية التي طورت لاحقا أشكالا متنوعة من التجارة والتبادل السلعي.
