المؤتمر الدولي للتعليم الديمقراطي (IDEC) هو مؤتمر أكاديمي وشبابي سنوي تستضيفه مجموعة متنوعة من المدارس والمنظمات في مدن حول العالم.[1][2][3]
التاريخ[عدل]
وتم عقد المؤتمر الدولي للتعليم الديمقراطي لأول مرة في عام 1993، وتواصل انعقاده في جميع السنوات اللاحقة باستثناء سنة 2001 (أنظر إلى الملاحظات).[4] وقد تتفاوت مدة المؤتمر ما بين يومين. كما حدث في أول مؤتمر و15 يوم كما حدث في عام 1997. ويكون تحديد الغرض من كل مؤتمر من قبل المدرسة المنظمة له.[5][6]

IDEC 2001: The conference was to be held jointly and co-hosted by the Institute of Democratic Education in Israel and the Hope Flowers School in Palestine, but the international situation reduced it to a comparatively small event, attended mainly by Israelis, Palestinians and Germans; for that situation they was decided to call this conference the “Israeli Democratic Education Conference”. IDEC 2009: The conference was cancelled due to H1N1[13] IDEC 2012: For the very first time, the IDEC conference will be held in the Caribbean at Puerto Rico, a Commonwealth (unincorporated territory) of the United States.
