تاريخ الغرض
Deutsch: Der Wellenbalken steht als Zeichen für den Fluss Ems, das Grün im Hintergrund als Symbol für die Landgemeinde. Der Bohrturm verdeutlicht die handwerkliche, gewerbliche und industrielle Aufwärtsentwicklung der Gemeinde nach 1945, das Wagenrad hingegen Tradition und Landwirtschaft. Die acht Speichen verweisen auf die früher acht selbständigen Gemeinden (Gemeindeteile), aus denen die Gemeinde Geeste gebildet worden ist.
English: The arms show a bend wavy argent for the Ems river, that flows through the municipality. The green colour symbolises the agricultural character of the municipality. The derrick symbolises the industry in the municipality, which have been operational for over 70 years. The wheel also symbolises agriculture; the eight spokes stand for the the eight villages in the municipality.
