English: Hercoglossa species fossil; a nautiloid characterized by a markedly sinuous sutural pattern - Specimen from Madagascar (Tulear area, unknown site); probably from early Late Cretaceous sediments. The genus Hercoglossa is reported from Late Cretaceous (Campanian-Maastrichtian) of Madagascar by Collignon M. (1972). However, this genus occurs at least from Late Jurassic (Foord A.H. and Crick G.C., 1890). The Hercoglossidae are probably the ancestors of the Aturiidae (worldwide diffused nautiloid family of Paleocene-Miocene).

That is not Hercoglossa, it's a jurassic specious, probably of oxfordian age, called Pseudaganides. Il ne s'agit pas d'un Hercoglossa, c'est une espèce jurassique, probablement oxfordienne, appartenant au genre Pseudaganides
