النظام الأمومي (بالإنجليزية: Matriarchy) هو شكل افتراضي من من أشكال المجتمع، تكون فيه السلطة للمرأة، سواء في الفضاء الأسري أو الاجتماعي أو السياسي. فالأبناء فيه يُنسبون إلى الأمّ، وينحصر حقّ الإرث في فرع الأمّ في سلسلة النسب، هذا فضلاً عن أنّ الزوج يقطن مع عشيرة الأمّ.[1][2]
