لودور ، نُشر أيضًا تحت عنوان الأرملة الجميلة، هي الرواية قبل الأخيرة للروائية الرومانسية ماري شيلي، اكتملت عام 1833 ونُشرت عام 1835.[1]

الموضوع[عدل]

في لودور، ركزت شيلي موضوعها المتمثل في السلطة والمسؤولية على الصورة المصغرة للأسرة.[2] تتبع القصة المركزية ثروات زوجة وابنة الشخصية الرئيسية، اللورد لودور، الذي قُتل في مبارزة في نهاية المجلد الأول، تاركًا سلسلة من العقبات القانونية والمالية والعائلية أمام "البطلتين". تضع ماري شيلي الشخصيات النسائية في مركز الروايات، وهن: إثيل ابنة لودور؛ وزوجته المنفصلة عنه، كورنيليا، التي كانت منشغلة بأعراف ومظاهر المجتمع الأرستقراطي؛ والمثقفة والمستقلة فاني ديرهام.[3]
