الوصف "O atual símbolo do Exército foi estabelecido no Regulamento de Uniformes do Pessoal do Exército de 1951. É descrito como um escudo formado por um resplendor de vinte lâminas, atravessado no seu eixo vertical, de baixo para cima, por um sabre, tudo de prata, sobrepostos por três elipses, filetadas de prata, concêntricas, nas cores verde, amarela e azul-celeste". "No Plano de Uniformes de 1931, surgiu o símbolo com elipses concêntricas nas cores nacionais - o chamado "cocar elíptico" - que adornava o emblema dos quepes dos oficiais.
