المواءمة اللفظية المعنوية هي مقابلة لفظ دخيل بآخر أصيل في اللغة يشبهه في اللفظ والمعنى، بغية تعويضه به. وربما سميت في العربية تعريب الأساليب.[1]

- أرضي شوكي من الإنجليزية أرتيشوكي[2] (artichoke)
- شربة بالضم، ومعناها في الأصل ما أشرب به الشيء وامتزج به ومقدار شربة [بالفتح] ماء أو نحوه،[3] من الفارسية شوربا[4] مركبة من شور أي مالح وبا أي حساء.
- تقني، في الأصل من الإتقان أي حسن الصنع (التقن هو الطبيعة، وتقن اسم رجل كان يجيد الرمي فضرب به المثل)، من الفرنسية تكنيك (technique)
- لج، الأمر من ولج يلج ولوجا بمعنى ادخل، من الإنجليزية لك إن (log in) بمعنى عرف
- الحليل، ومعناه الزوج، من الألمانية أليلومرف (Allelomorph) أي الشكل الآخر
- سخام (spam)
- بكتيرية أجرعية (agrobacterium)
- كيسة (kyst)
