بين عامي 108 قبل الميلاد و1911 بعد الميلاد، حدث في الصين ما لا يقل عن 1828 مجاعة كبرى، أو مجاعة واحدة تقريباً كل عام في إحدى المقاطعات الصينية أو أكثر. لكن هذه المجاعات تباينت من حيث شدتها.[1][2]
